The 2004 International Contest of Functional Programming

Take a look at what we have done for this competition:

The contest, at it’s seventh edition, has been organized by members of the PLClub in the Computer and Information Science Department at the University of Pennsylvania.

The object of this year’s programming contest was to design an ant colony that would bring the most food particles back to its anthill, while fending off ants of another species. In order to win the contest, the teams had to submit the neural wiring for the ants in their colony—a text file containing code for a simple, finite state machine that is run by all of their ants. The teams were allowed to use any programming language for this purpose... or none at all.

We also entered the contest, and in our ant’s page you can see our algorithm, as well as the tools that we used to build ant test it.
